Craft Autoworks has an open book policy on all of our costs. Your build budget will include a full breakdown of all materials, components and labor (broken down by task) so you know exactly what you are paying for. We also document all builds from start to finish so you have proof the materials you paid for were in fact used in your build.

Pricing is dependent on the size of vehicle chosen and the features desired for the build. Typical starting costs for a camper van build are in the $60k range for a very basic build in a small van. Budgets quickly increase from there as different features, options and finishes are incorporated and/or larger vans are used for the base vehicle. Average build costs tend to run in the $75k to $125k range. Offroad and Overland style van builds tend to be on the upper end of that range due to additional costs for suspension, trail armor, and systems designs for longer off-grid use.

See our build portfolio pages for pricing and feature lists of each completed conversion

Typically the fastest a timeline can move on a build is 3 to 4 weeks for design and then 8 to 10 weeks for the build process. If we are booked out with current builds, the design process can be done at any time ahead of the build (sooner the better) so once space is available at our shop, your build can begin as soon as the van is delivered.

Although we have explored this option in the past, we currently do not offer any pre-designed or pre-fabricated builds.

We have found our forte is in providing unique solutions for each client we work with. Everyone’s needs and interests are different and you deserve to have a van that caters to your use case.

At our core, we are a custom design and fabrication studio that uses spec materials to create unique builds for each client. Essentially, that means we will work with you to develop a unique floor plan, systems design and exterior accessories kit to meet your functional goals while using certain materials that we know and trust. These spec materials, like our Maple Multi-Plywood and Microfiber Upholstery are purchased in bulk on a regular basis, reducing costs and lead time, allowing you to save money and get your finished build sooner. We have found this is a great balance between customization and efficiency, allowing us to make a one-off build for each client affordably, quickly and reliably.
